A letter from Victor Williamson
Founder of the Christa McAuliffe Space Education Center
Director, Farpoint Station at Renaissance Academy
Dear Space Center Fans!
Welcome to the new SpaceCampUtah web site highlighting programs using the Space EdVentures experiential education program I developed at Central Elementary School during my thirty years as a teacher and founder / director of the Christa McAuliffe Space Education Center. To date there are two Space EdVenture Centers in Utah and one in Pennsylvania. The Utah Space EdVenture Centers are: Project Voyager at Renaissance Academy, Lehi, The Christa McAuliffe Space Education Center at Central Elementary School in Pleasant Grove, and The Discovery Space Center. Dream Flight Adventures is located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Washington D.C. Nearly 400,000 students have participated in our programs over our twenty-five year history.
I retired from the Alpine School District in May of 2012 to build Project Voyager, the next generation Space EdVenture program at Renaissance Academy, a public K-9 charter school, in the Fall of 2015. Voyager Cadets use the world's largest starship experiential simulator on fantastic learning adventures in space and time. These Edventures combine the excitement of science fiction with a Utah standards based STEM curriculum to motivate students to excel in science, technology, engineering and math. Be sure to read the blog to keep updated on all developments at all the Space EdVenture Centers.
This website is your link to Utah's Space EdVenture Centers. Using the links above, you can book field trips, private missions, birthday parties and space camps at any of our centers. Please support our centers as we work to bring this unique experience to students nationwide.
Please be sure to visit me at my new center when it opens in 2015. Until then, keep in touch. My email address is email@example.com. I'd love to hear about your experiences at any of our centers.
