For over 20 years the Space Center has been holding successful, inexpensive, and very popular space edventure camps. The tradition continues this summer with new stories! Arrive at the Space Center between 6:45 and 7:00 P.M. the first night. Report to your ships to begin your mission. At 11 P.M., there is a short snack break. Lights out at 11:30 P.M. The mission continues the next morning at 7:30 after a light breakfast. The camp ends at 10 A.M. that morning. All other weekends during the school year are booked by schools. Sometimes schools do not fill their camps. These openings are advertised on the Space Center's Blog and sent out by email to those on our email list. Please contact us to be added to our camp email list. |
Super Saturdays (ages 10 - 14).Blast off on an exciting, fun filled adventure at the Space Center! Campers will spend 5 hours on board one of our five simulators. Each EdVenture places the campers in exciting stories that emphasize team work, listening, cooperation and problem solving skills. Campers will be surprised that learning can be so much fun, challenging and rewarding! Super Saturdays are the Space Education Center's most affordable camp. Super Saturdays begin at 12:00 Noon and end at 5:00 P.M. CAMPERS SHOULD EAT LUNCH BEFORE ARRIVING.

Academy Classes. School Year 2011-2012 The Space Center offers five different courses taught at different times during the school year. The Academy Classes are a great way to earn class hours toward the Space Center's ranking system. Each course is taught independent of the others and will satisfy the requirements for the applicable Boy Scout Merit Badges. Homework will be necessary to earn the merit badge. Classes last 90 minutes. Students must attend all the dates listed. Classes begin at 6:30 P.M.The Academy Classes are open to boys and girls ages 10 to 17. - Closed Astronomy. Dates: Thursdays: October 27 and November 3, 10, 17. Tuition: $20.00
- Open Aviation. Dates: Wednesdays: January 4, 11, 25. February 1, 8. Tuition: $23.00
- Open Nuclear Science. Dates: Wednesdays: Dates: February 15, 22, 29. March 7. Tuition: $20.00
- Open Geology. Dates: Wednesdays: March 14, 21, 28. April 4. Tuition: $20.00
- Open Space Exploration. Dates: Thursdays: April 5, 19, 26, and May 3. Saturday Rocket Launch May 12 (A.M. Weather Permitting) Tuition: $35.00
- Open LiveCode Computer Programming Class. Tuition: FREE! Four of the Space Center's five simulators are programmed in LiveCode (Revolution). Class information (dates and times) can be found by CLICKING HERE. This is a special course open to those with a serious interest in programming. LiveCode is a great beginning language to "get your feet wet" . The course is open to anyone in Grade 6 and up. Enrollment is done by telephone only. Call the Center at 801.785.8713.
