The Space Center experience relies heavily on volunteers and interns.  Our volunteers live up and down the Wasatch Front and generally are between 10 and 18 years old.  

Would you be interested in an internship or volunteer opportunity at the Space Education Center?  

1.  You must be able to work one of the following shifts.

A.  Arrival between 9:30 and 10:20 A.M. and stay until 11:45.

B.  Arrival between 11:45 and 12:20 P.M.  and stay until 1:45 P.M.

 

2.  Contact your High School Internship Coordinator for information on interning for credit.  

3.  Please call the Space Center to set up an internship interview if you can adjust your school schedule to accommodate our field trip needs. 

 
Volunteer Requirements 

You may apply to become an volunteer if you meet the following qualifications:
1.  You are out of elementary school.
2.  You've done at least one Overnight Camp or Super Saturday (for our younger volunteers.  Adult volunteers exempt)
3.  You have no grades below a C (a C- disqualifies you). (Adult volunteers exempt) 
4.  You live close enough to work at least once a month on after school missions (Monday - Thursday).
5.  You're a hard worker, willing to do even boring and repetitive tasks.
6.  You get along well with people.
7.  You must be covered by health insurance or school accident insurance. Catastrophic only insurance only does not meet the insurance requirement. Proof of Insurance will be required.

If you meet those qualifications please send a reply email and an application will be sent to you.  Our volunteers / interns are required to work at least one 2.5 hour mission per month. You select the date and time. Our private missions are run after school, evenings and Saturdays.  Of course you may work more if you wish.  

Volunteers and interns receive discounts on missions, classes and camps.  

Anyone 18 years of age and older must be fingerprinted and pass a background check (at your expense).
